NRI businessmen Ravi Pillai took extravagance to a new level. For the wedding of his daughter he spent around Rs 55 crore which happened at the famous Asramam ground in Kollam, Kerala. The wedding of Dr Arathi with Kochi-based doctor Aditya Vishnumade all kinds of headlines because of the lavish scale it was done at.
The wedding had a 4.25 lakh-sq ft set that came with a LED wall which measured 34×12 ft. The set was designed by famous movie art director Sabu Cyril. He is the same man who is behind the sets of the blockbuster ‘Bahubali’. The theme of the sets was on the royal Rajasthan palaces.
Cyril says that took him around 75 days to prepare the set for the wedding. The cost of which was around Rs 20 crore. Various parts of the set were prepared in Mumbai and later transported to the venue. But to assemble the pre fabricated structures at the venue it took around 40 days. He also revealed that it will take around 200 men and around a fortnight to dismantle the set and clear the ground.
