Bigg Boss 9: Money, Penalty, and More!

Surviving in the Bigg Boss house is surely not an easy task. But did you know how much the contestants living in the locked house get paid? Every contestant is paid a massive amount to be a part of the reality show.

According to the contract, the signing amount is paid within seven days of execution of the contract. And even if a contestant gets evicted in the first week, the signing amount is the minimum guarantee that the contestant receives. In addition to this signing amount, all the participants are given a weekly consideration.

This weekly fee is payable to a contestant only for the period of his/her stay inside the Bigg Boss house. The minimum amount of the weekly consideration is a whopping 3 lakhs, which is given to the least popular contestant on the show. Popular contestants are paid between 5-7 lakhs every week. So the contestant who wins does not only take the winning amount (50 lakhs) home, but also the weekly payment, which means the contestant who wins the show actually wins in crores. Woah.

But then, this is nothing when compared to what Salman Khan charges to be the anchor of the show. Salman Khan is paid the gigantic amount of 6 crore rupees for one episode. Well this shows how important is Salman Khan to the makers of the show.

It is because of Salman Khan and the melodramatic contestants, that the TRP of the reality show is always sky high. And if sources are to be believed, there is a ‘special fee’ for the contestants who create more drama on the show.

Also, if a contestant decides to leave the show mid-way, he/she will have to pay a huge fine of Rs. 5 crores. Now we understand why Rimi Sen, despite ranting that she wants to leave, is still on the show.
