Do You Know These Bollywood Celebs Have A Royal Lineage

Maharajas and Maharanis, grand palaces, respect, luxury, servants and what not comes to our mind when we talk about royalty. Though we live in a democratic country but not so long ago there were princely states and royals ruling in our country. Their rule might have ended but the royals are given the same respect in today’s time too.

Here are the Bollywood celebs who belong to royal families.

1. Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan

Saif Ali khan and his sister Soha Ali Khan are the most known royals in the industry. His paternal grandfather, Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi was the eighth Nawab of Pataudi. Also, his paternal grandmother was Sajida Sultan, Begum of Bhopal. Saif is the tenth Nawab of Pataudi; however, the princely title has had no official recognition since 1971.

2. Aditi Rao Hydari

Aditi Rao Hydari was born into two royal lineages. She is the great-granddaughter of Akbar Hydari and the grandniece of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari, former Governor of Assam. Her maternal grandparents are Raja J Rameshwar Rao, who headed the administration of Wanaparthy state of Telangana.

3. Kiran Rao

Kiran Rao was born into a family from Telangana. Her paternal grandfather was J. Rameshwar Rao, Raja of Wanaparthy. Kiran Rao and actor Aditi Rao Hydari are maternal first cousins as her paternal and Aditi’s maternal grandfather J. Rameshwar Rao was the Raja of Wanaparthy.

4. Sonal Chauhan

The Jannat star, Sonal Chauhan, belongs to Rajput royals of Uttar Pradesh. Her family originates from the ancient royal Chauhan Rajput family of Manipuri.

5. Bhagyashree

Best known for her debut in Maine Pyar Kiya, the full name of this actress is Shrimant Rajkumari Bhagyashree Raje Patwardhan. Bhagyashree hails from the Patwardhan royal Marathi family of Sangli in Maharashtra. Her father is Vijay Singhrao Madhavrao Patwardhan, is the current Raja of Sangli.

6. Riya and Raima Sen

The Bengali sisters belong to the royal lineage of Tripura. Their father Bharat Dev Varma is a member of the royal family of Tripura. Her paternal grandmother, Ila Devi, was the princess of Cooch Behar, whose younger sister Gayatri Devi was the Maharani of Jaipur. Her paternal great-grandmother Indira was the only daughter of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III of Baroda.
