No matter how much people judge them and say two girls cannot be true friends, bitchiness and catfights take over the initial bond that they share. But the truth is that those who believe in such stereotypes have never experienced a relation with so much love. Female friendships exist and those friends become more than family and lovers to them.
Sonata based on the play by the same name by Mahesh Elkunchwar is the psychological exploration of three unmarried women. It is a story of Aruna Chaturvedi (Professor), Dolon Sen (Banker) and Subhadra Parekh (journalist), their life and it’s struggles. The film stars the exceptionally talented Aparna Sen, Shabana Azmi, and Lillette Dubey.
