We pray Goddesses, believe that in every girl is a Goddess still the crime rate against women is rising. New cases of child abuse are coming to light and a girl is no where safe. In a recent incident a 13 year old girl delivered a baby in school washroom and nobody in the school knew about her pregnancy.
This incident happened at Madhapur the information technology hub of Hyderabad. The girl complained of stomach pains during the class. Those were nothing but the labour pain. Teacher asked her to go to the washroom with another classmate of her’s. Minutes later the classmate returned and told teacher that the girl had delivered a baby.
She was shifted to another room and her parents were called. None of the staff including 13 female teachers knew about the girl’s pregnancy. They told that she is very slim and would walk with a dupatta on her stomach and she would sit with her bag on her lap, so we didn’t know.
The district education officer visited the school to enquire about the case and said may be the parent’s knew about it but did not revealed due to social stigma. A case of rape has been registered. The prime suspect is neighbour Dinesh who might have assaulted the girl.
The cases against child abuse are increasing and it is high time we do something about it. Make your children learn about good touch and bad touch. Also make sure they are not afraid to tell you if something wrong happens to them.
