Many a times, we feel miserable on the turns that our life takes that we feel that we can’t take it anymore! Taandav produced by Muvizz is one such glaring account. The movie opens with head constable Tambe (played by Manoj Bajpayee) lost in a maze of thoughts while the crowd dances maniacally  to deafening beats of drum as the festive clatter echoes the religious vibes of Ganpati Visarjan. Tambe,  along with two of his juniors havaldaars Sawant and Shilwant have been given the nightlong Ganpati Visarjan Bandobast duty. Tambe has hit a rough patch in his life when he is plagued with multiple conflicting situations bringing a crisis in his personal as well as professional life. Undoubtedly, the most endearing part of the movie is the ending part where Tambe  clears the mess in the most enchanting and unpredictable fashion.

Understandably, the entire show is stolen by the very talented  Manoj Bajpayee who with his flawless comprehension of his character’s inner world conveys the expressions beautifully.  He plays both the subdued undertones as well as the high pitch, dangerous overtones with striking finesse. The movie speaks more from his face than his tongue. The powerful acting works in perfect fusion with the impactful music to enrapture the audiences hankering for more. The dilemma of choosing between his daughter’s future while paying for the gigantic donation and upholding his ethics by not amassing the fortune found during a raid remains the focal point of the movie which Tambe portrays effortlessly without winking his eye. The sheer genius in the direction and the unfolding of  the narrative makes every second worth watching and one feels the irresistable urge to appreciate the  excellent execution of every element. In a short duration, the movie talks about corruption, morality and the art of setting yourself free.

The movie finds a place in my heart not just because of its’ tremendous  entertainment value but also because of its’ honest and impeccable portrayal of the appalling reality of  lives of people entrusted with the most demanding job while surviving on a peanut salary. The movie is one refreshing yet reflective slice from their struggling lives. The movie also scores on the other high point where it reminds us that no matter what, “dance” is the most dependable ally for releasing one’s pent-up frustration.  The music by Nucleya is foot-tapping and blends in perfectly with the rest. Kudos to the team to have succeeded in packing so many emotions, thoughts, lessons in a light suitcase of entertainment.

With a loaded revolver and his blood on boil, the way  Tambe unleashes the evil energies in him does a “Taandav” in your mind long after!

Don’t miss out on these most captivating eleven minutes of your life when Tambe hits you right where it hurts!
