Admission season is on and thousands are visiting North Campus, Delhi University each day. One big joy associated with DU are the eating joints found around the University. Here are some of the best eating joints in and around North Campus that are a must-try.

1. Delhi School Of Economics

Once famously known as Indian Coffee House for almost 22 years, Delhi School of Economics Canteen is currently being managed by two employees of erstwhile Coffee House. DSE canteen is known for its Mutton Cutlet, Spring Rolls, Mutton Dosa, Keema Dosa and Egg curry rice.

2. Momo’s Point

Owned by an alumnus of Hansraj College Harsh, Momo’s Point is one of the oldest joints to have cropped up in Kamla Nagar. Initially, the menu only had steamed pork, chicken and vegetarian momos. But with time there have been further additions such as fried momos, tandoori momos and honey chilly potatoes. The variety offered at the joint is the reason behind the long queue outside at any given time of the day.

3. Ricos

A cafe with a very refreshing concept, Ricos is more like a student’s joint with no alcohol served and no smoking area. The place is known for its quality of food they offer and the ambience of the place. It serves American, Lebanese, Mexican, Italian and Continental dishes and costs Rs 750 for two people.

4. QD Restaurant

Known for its signature dish Tandoori momos, the restaurant serves North Indian and Chinese cuisines and is reasonably cheap (costs Rs 500 for two people). Located in GTB Nagar it is one of the favorite eating points of DU students and is known for its amazing service and ability to meet students’ demand.

5. Big Yellow Door

The place gets open early in the morning (8am) till late night (11pm). This place is highly recommended if you are at North Campus. The place is small but the food and ambience makes up for it.

6. St. Stephen’s Cafeteria

Famous for both its vegetarian and non vegetarian food, it is the most sought after cafeteria in the varsity. The cafeteria serves thalis with chapatti, rice, salad, vegetable and dal along with an option to customise according to the preference of students. The food here is not only cheap but nutritious as well. The ambience of the cafeteria with its unique furniture and lighting makes it different from other joints.

7. Chache Di Hatti

Chache di Hatti is famous for it delicious Cholle Bhature , though it closes at around 2pm but till then its always crowded with students as it servers chole bhature at very cheap price. A meal for two would cost approximately Rs 100.

8. Bille Di Hatti

Bille Di Hatti provides some awesome Chole Puri at very affordable price along with Lassi and Halwa, with this kind of heavy breakfast you won’t be feeling hungry the whole day.

9. Majnu Ka Tilla

There are about 20 food stalls in this Tibetan colony situated in New Aruna Nagar, dishing up these gems of Himalayan cuisine. Whether a Delhi University student or not, these steamed beauties stuffed with pork, mutton and chicken are a must-try.
