Protecting your skin from the sun is something so important and which most of us forget many times. Some nutrients help to strengthen skin cells to make them less susceptible to sun damage, and others help to reduce photosensitivity in the skin. It is although very important to use a good SPF to protect your skin from sun damage but the nutrients help the skin from inside to fight against sun damage.

1. Omega 3

It keeps the skin youthful and moisturised and have anti-inflammatory benefits that lessen sun damage, rashes, and burns. It is found in walnuts, salmon, flax seeds, etc.

2. Vitamin A

Its regular intake works almost in the same way as vitamin C. It helps in increasing blood flow to the skin’s surface and slow free radical damage, this makes the skin less prone to sun damage. It is present in carrot, sweet potato, spinach, etc.

3. resveratrol

This is a nutrient produced by plants when they’re under attack from certain bacteria and fungi. It has powerful antioxidant properties that neutralise radical activities and affect the production of collagen. It is found in blueberries, peanuts, wine, etc.

4. Zinc

Mostly it is an ingredient present in all the sunscreens because of its slow the oxidative damage to skin cells from free radicals. It gives skin youthfulness and keeps it glowing. It is there in sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, dark chocolate, etc

5. Vitamin C

It is one of the best nutrient required for a good and healthy skin. It prevents and slows sun damage that can cause photochemical skin darkening and discoloration, which can lead to cancerous mutations and moles. It is found in oranges, strawberries, red pepper, etc.
