We all have made makeup blunders, even celebrities. But we learn from our mistakes. So, I am going to share what I have learnt.
Avoid these common makeup mistakes to look flawless.
1. Choosing Wrong Foundation and Not Blending It Properly
Choosing the right foundation is the key. Always choose a foundation that matches your skin tone. Also, blend your foundation onto your neck, otherwise it would look like you are wearing a mask.
2. Getting Your Concealer Shade Wrong
It’s best to use a concealer that is one or two shades lighter than your skin tone; But be careful of not to go too much lighter with the product, as it can give an impression that you’re wearing a lot of makeup.
Also, concealer should be applied after applying the foundation.
Applying too much powder throughout the day can make your face appear heavy and cakey.
4. Applying Dark Shades Of Blush
Always apply blush closer to your natural blush tone. This would make you look younger. And for the best application, smile/pout and apply blush from the apples along your cheekbone all the way to your temple.
5. Applying Too Much Mascara
Do not use too much mascara. It would look unnatural and get clumpy.
6. Curling Your Lashes After Applying Mascara
You should always curl your lashes before applying mascara; Because if you curl them after applying mascara, the mascara would be wet and you would end up getting stuck together, sticky lashes.
7. Wearing Waterproof Mascara Everyday
It’s good to use waterproof mascara occasionally, but using it on a daily basis is not good for your lashes. The formula that makes it water-resistant will also dry out your lashes, and with that extra amount of effort to remove it, you’ll be losing more of those lashes than you should be.
8. Shading Your Brows Too Dark
Go a shade lighter or use a less intense touch to fill out your brows, otherwise your brows would look unnatural.
9. Overdoing Lip Liner
Going too dark with the lip liner is one of the common mistakes made by women. Always use a lip liner which is the same color as your lipstick or a color that is very close to it. Also, moving outside the lip-line will not make your lips look fuller, it would only make the lines more noticeable.
10. Using Expired Makeup
Using expired makeup does not only look unattractive, but can also lead to skin irritation and eye infections.
11. Testing Makeup Shades On The Wrong Areas
Always test the makeup you are buying by applying it on your face, and not on the back of your hands.
