Being pregnant is like going for a roller-coaster ride, your hormones are all over the place and you gain weight in unimaginable places and those cravings are killing you, so yeah, it is nothing less than a roller-coaster ride.

It comes with loads of good things in life but you have to lose something in order to gain the other! Pregnancy also comes with excess fat, unshaped body, and stretch marks. Many of these things can be avoided by having clean and healthy eating habits. Like if you eat for two all the time, you are bound to gain excess weight but if you eat mindfully including all the important nutrients, you might just gain the necessary weight. With the weight gain comes the stretch marks, that are near to impossible to get rid of.

There are many ways how you can avoid those marks, obviously, you will have them but some of the habits can limit their appearance.

3. Drink loads of water

Doctors suggest having a minimum of 10 glasses of water everyday excluding other liquids like juices or tea. Staying hydrated is the key to a healthy skin and body.

4. Keep it moving

Light exercising like dancing, swimming, walking keeps your cardiovascular system functioning properly and yoga, stretching and weight training helps in building your strength. Mild exercising also keeps extra fat at bay and tones your body preventing the stretch marks.

5. Gradual weight gain

Gaining weight gradually is a part of pregnancy so do not try to literally eat for two. You will not be having a sudden weight gain but you will start gaining more weight in your second and third trimester.

6. Skin care products

There are many products in the market for the need of pregnant women, many oils and lotions, make a good use of them. Use those lotions and oils to keep your skin soft and supple and they are also known to prevent or lessen the appearance of stretch marks.

Every pregnancy is different, so do not feel down if you are having stretch marks even after taking care of your diet and your skin. These are a part of being a mother and when you will hold your baby in your arms, every stretch marks that you have in your body will feel worth it.

So be a proud mom regardless of the stretch marks but there is no harm in trying to take care of yourself, right?
