Choose Self Respect over Ego!

There comes a moment in everybody’s life when you have to choose between yourself and a particular person and then there comes the mighty choice between EGO and SELF RESPECT. One holds as much importance as the other but in a very balanced proportion. If your ego weights more, automatically everything gets worsened. On the other hand, your self-respect plays an important role too. One has to maintain his/her self-respect in order to maintain his/her value in front of others.

Sometimes people take you for granted but you gotta tell them your worth, your value. Because you’re definitely not to be taken for granted, actually no one is. Moreover, at times we fight with our loved ones say boyfriend/girlfriend and we wrong decisions because of our so-called ego. I remember, my friend once shouted at her boyfriend because of his ill behavior in front of me and her boyfriend got offended and took it very deeply and eventually his ego got hurt so the next time I met them together, he deliberately created a scene and shouted on my friend just because of the reason that she shouted at him last time in front of me too! I mean, that’s ridiculous. My friend, fortunately, broke up with him. This is a mere example of what happens when you use that EGO of yours too much and finally end up hurting yourself only.

On the other side, the amount of self-respect one has, says a lot about his/her character, whether you can stand up for right or not, whether you’re capable of taking your decisions and standing upon them or not. It happens a lot in relationships, one person takes the other for granted and the other one always ends up letting go of the situation and getting back together again. This is not right, not even justified on both parts. Relationship means being equal in terms of sharing, caring, loving and most importantly respecting each other. One can’t be the weaker one and saying sorry every time even when it’s not their fault. One needs to make their partner realize their self-respect in order to be treated well and equal.
